Director and Trustee Duties Workshop

Recent legal developments have made it easier for police and the HSE to prosecute directors, trustees and senior managers personally in the aftermath of a serious workplace incident.

This one day in-company workshop, led by Jonathan Caplan QC and supported by CAS and Housemans solicitors, provides authoritative advice and guidance on:

  • The law on directors’ duties
  • HSE/IOD guidance: leading health and safety (INDG417)
  • Embedding a proactive safety culture
  • Responding to an investigation and how to prepare for defending a prosecution
  • Implications of the 2007 Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act

Organisational Safety Culture Analysis

Our Organisational Safety Culture Analysis (OSCA) process will be of value to any organisation concerned that behaviours on the ground don’t match expectations in the boardroom. Based on the CAS Culture Management Model, OSCA takes senior managers and staff through a structured investigation of culture goals and realities which produces a clear path to alignment. We have over 25,000 individual responses from staff working in over 30 major businesses. Benchmarks are available for transport operations, maintenance and civil engineering and technical services. The CAS Culture Management Model has been adopted by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure as the basis for its work on security culture.
